Aguilera, Braxton, Three 6 Mafia and More Spend New Year’s Eve on SpellCasters!

Dec. 27, 2006 – SpellCasters Showcase, www.spellcasters.com, in conjunction with The Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment will bring the world’s biggest New Year’s Eve party live to the world of broadband! Featuring eight camera coverage of the entire festivities, including performances by Christina Aguilera, Toni Braxton, Three 6 Mafia, Chris Doughtry, Rascal Flatts, My Chemical Romance, and P.O.D. Featured performances also include the cast of Jersey Boys, and a special tribute to our troops by The USO Troupe of Metropolitan New York.

SpellCasters Showcase will broadcast the entire event, beginning 5PM EST on December 31st, via real-time streaming broadband through their global network for free to the general public, allowing viewers world-wide to experience what is, traditionally, the place to be on New Year’s Eve!

The New Year’s Eve celebration will be preceded on December 28th at 3PM EST by a special live 30 minute behind-the-scenes look at the big event including arrival and installation of the “2007” sign at the top of One Times Square; the rigging of the 77-foot pole from which the Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball descends; the assembly and testing of the crystal New Year’s Eve Ball; and other preparations for the festivities.

“Carrying seven plus hours of live streaming feed is beyond the capacity of many platforms!” states President and Executive Producer M. Hep Sylvanus, “We built the SpellCasters platform with versatility in mind! Our Quality Tech backbone is one of the strongest, most stable data center networks in the world, and their tech team is as pro as you get. Maybe for Christmas you want to watch a piece of tree burning for hours on end… anybody can broadcast a half hour loop! For New Year’s you want to party! SpellCasters brings you the best party in the world from the time they get off the subway until the ball drops!”

SpellCasters is a premiere third screen VoD platform serving the BB/Mobile audience world-wide, offering a variety of programming including comedy, magic, indie film, extreme sports, fringe video, and more. All content on SpellCasters Showcase is licensed.

“We’re not a viral aggregator,” says Sylvanus, “We provide real programming for the third screen. Viral video is a fad that will burn out just after the time the big guys have scrambled to invest all their money in it! The wind is blowing hard through this industry, and a lot of apples are going to fall off the tree… SpellCasters was built to weather the storm! SpellCasters may not be the biggest apple on the branch, but we’ll still be on the tree!”
