As Parents Gear Up for Back-to-School Season, Kroger Helps Them Save with "4x Fuel Points" Promotion

Through August 11, Shoppers Can Pocket Savings at Their Local Kroger by Purchasing Gift Cards to Save on Gas

Raleigh, NC, July 31, 2015 –(– The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), the nation’s largest traditional grocery retailer with 14 stores throughout the Triangle and North Carolina, has announced that customers can receive four times the fuel points by purchasing select gift cards from their local Kroger through August 11 as part of the “Back to School” savings event. Shoppers will also find savings on school supplies including book bags, writing utensils, lunch boxes and healthy snacks throughout their local store. Even new college students will find deals on items like fans, dorm-size refrigerators (most stores) and small appliances.

Points earned in the “4X Fuel Points” promotion can be redeemed for savings of up to $1 per gallon on fuel purchases at The Kroger Co.’s Family of Stores Fuel Centers. For example, $25 in participating gift cards equals $0.10 off per gallon of gas.

In addition, Kroger customers can earn fuel points through their everyday purchases with Kroger’s regular fuel points program. With this program, customers can:

Earn 100 fuel points for every $100 in groceries purchased.
Earn double points every day on eligible gift card purchases, and earn points when they fill prescriptions
Redeem up to 1,000 points for up to $1 in savings at Kroger fuel centers in one fill-up.
Redeem fuel points at participating Shell stations.
