CDI Group Plc recently completed a demanding assignment for the Britannia Building Society. It was the exactly the sort of job that we here at CDI enjoy, a challenge and all the more satisfying for it.
Thanks to recent merger with Bristol and West Building Society, Britannia found themselves needing to fit LAN (local area networks) infrastructures into 97 offices. Couple that with the need for 13 training systems to cater for 850 staff and a demanding deadline and you’ve some idea of the challenge.
So how did CDI Group get on?
Who better to ask than Trevor Bawden, Network Services Team Leader, for Britannia Building Society:
“As the Bristol & West branches had to service their existing accounts until 1 July, Britannia had to get a new LAN infrastructure installed into each of the 97 offices to accommodate the new systems and set up 13 training systems in 10 venues to enable us to train some 850 staff in the run up to i-day. Each branch and training system required at least 10 LAN points, power and a comms cabinet.
With these demands in mind, it was imperative to engage with a business partner who could meet our requirements, specifications, budgets and deadlines.
I am delighted to say that CDI were big enough and flexible enough, to fulfil all our needs. The liaison with Derek Parkes and Christine Harris was first class and the speedy reaction to the inevitable changes in plans made the installations a lot easier to manage.
I am pleased to place on record my thanks to CDI for the part that they played in the successful merger of the Bristol & West branches with Britannia Building Society.”
Thanks to the expertise and experience of the team at CDI Group the potentially fraught infrastructure merger proved to be just another challenge to rise to.
