Custer Institute to Host a Program "Billions in Spanish Gold Off Florida's Beaches" Sponsored by the National Foundation for Marine Sciences

Southold, NY, July 27, 2015 –(PR.com)– The National Foundation for Marine Sciences, has announced today that it will be co-sponsoring a lecture entitled “Billions in Spanish Gold off Florida’s Beaches” at the Custer Institute on Main Bayview Rd. Southold, NY. The program will take place Saturday October 8 at 7pm.

The program will be conducted by Kyle Kennedy Chairman of Seafarer Exploration and James Sinclair, MA Underwater Archeologist. Jim Sinclair’s career began while working with a team in the quest for the Nuestra de Atocha (1622), where he served as director of the laboratory and oversaw the conservation of over 500,000 objects, valued at over 400 million dollars, that were recovered from the site. In addition to exploring the RMS Titanic site, He has worked on shipwreck worldwide and has been featured on several televised programs on famous wrecks including the Lusitania on the Discovery Channel and “Ben Franklin’s Pirate Ships” on the National Geographic Channel. Mr. Sinclair has given talks on shipwrecks from grammar schools to universities, major corporations to cruise ships. His talk is engaging and motivational.

The National Foundation for Marine Sciences is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education, exploration, research and preservation of marine habitats, life, culture and archeology. More information is available at www.foundationformarinesciences.org

The Foundation is based on Long Island, NY, which has a rich maritime history and is one of the earliest English settlements in New England, dating from the mid-1600s. The Custer Institute is an educational institution founded in 1927 to promote Astronomy.
