Nov. 17, 2006 – November 16, 2006. Detroit, Michigan. For Immediate Release. NicoFish Enterprises, LLC, located in Bloomfield Hills, announced today that it will be featured in a segment on Raleigh, North Carolina’s NBC-TV Channel 17. The spot, which will air on November 23, is an interview with Faye Prosser, author of The Smart Spending Guide. In demonstrating how to coupon shop through the Internet, Prosser chose to work through NicoFish’s Unique web site, Gonicofish.com.
Gina Bassman, CEO of NicoFish Enterprises and the creator of Gonicofish.com, is on a mission to revolutionize Internet shopping. She embarked on this venture after leaving the corporate world to spend more time with her family. While at home, Bassman visited several web sites that promised to connect shoppers with the lowest prices from a variety of merchants. Bassman discovered that these sites were difficult to navigate, and she got lost in long, unorganized lists of items.
Never one to sit still for long, Bassman dreamed of a more efficient and fun way to connect online consumers with money-saving opportunities. Thus, she created Gonicofish.com, a central web site where web shoppers can ‘catch’ each day’s latest and best discounts, bargains, and coupons. Her free resource helps consumers locate the best prices on items from nearly nine hundred merchants.
I love working with Fortune 500 retailers and quality boutiques to bring shoppers savings on line,” says Bassman, former Senior Financial Director for the Detroit Lions. “My aim is to provide a fun and easy place for customers to ‘catch’ today’s latest deals, discounts, and coupon codes.”
In order to make her site “shopper-friendly”, Bassman developed her own software and layout. Visitors to Gonicofish.com can browse by merchant or brand name, by a specific item, or by choosing one of seventeen different product categories.
Prosser chose Gonicofish.com to show viewers how to locate merchant coupons on the Internet. “I love using Gonicofish.com whenever I am shopping online. Gina has the most up-to-date coupon codes, and I always find excellent deals through the site. I highly recommend Gonicofish.com in the Smart Spending couponing classes that I teach so others can benefit from the great coupons Gina finds!”
Both Prosser and Bassman utilize their financial expertise to benefit consumers. Prosser has taught her Smart Spending techniques to thousands at conferences, community colleges, women’s groups, religious organizations and more. She also operates the site, Smart Spending Resources. She has a Masters Degree in Human Resources Development and over 15 years of human resources management, training and consulting experience. She saves her family more than 50% off her grocery bill every single week.
Prior to founding Gonicofish.com, Bassman was Senior Financial Officer for the Detroit Lions. During eighteen years in the corporate finance arena, she acquired experience in mortgage banking, commercial real estate, retail, sports, and entertainment. She was also instrumental in the start-up of Ford Field. Bassman has been featured in national press releases in which she offered tips for teaching young children sound financial concepts, finding designer bargains online, and ways to make holiday shopping on the Internet easier.
Bassman represents the fifth member of her immediate family within four generations to found and run businesses. Her husband, Robert, owns his own accounting firm.
Bassman received her BBA from Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration in Troy, Michigan.
