"Kids Adopt a Shelter" Organizes 3rd Annual Family Pet Adoption Fashion Show

“Kids Adopt a Shelter” (or K.A.S) is an animal shelter support organization founded by a child actor named Sean Martin and represented by children and families worldwide. They are on a mission to collect donations and supply aid for animal shelters. K.A.S is organizing a Pet Adoption Fashion Show on Sunday July 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to fundraise for animal shelters and get their animals adopted.

Massapequa, NY, April 23, 2015 –(PR.com)– The 15-year-old actor Sean Martin is at it again with his philanthropic efforts. His mission in 2011 was to organize a drive for The Little Shelter, an animal shelter in Huntington, NY. Now his goal is to aid animal shelters grows worldwide with his organization, “Kids Adopt a Shelter” or K.A.S. “Kids Adopt a Shelter” is organizing a Pet Adoption Fashion Show to fundraise and collect donations for animal shelters and get their animals adopted. It is on Sunday July 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Massapequa Petco in Massapequa, NY. The rain date is Sunday July 26.

The Pet Adoption Fashion Show will have multiple family-friendly events and activities. The fashion show is allowing rescue and shelters to walk their adoptable animals in the “Adopt a Pet Fashion Walk.” Participating shelters and rescues include: Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, Fur Babies Rescue, Friends of Freddie Pet Rescue, The Adoption Center, Last Chance Animal Rescue, My Shadow Rescue and Get a Bull Rescue with more pending shelters and rescues. The public can register to walk their favorite pet down the runway in the “I Love My Pet Fashion Walk” for a $10 donation. Registration for the public walk must be done in advance and can be done on Eventbrite. Participants can show off their pet in an outfit and have professional photographs taken.

The event will also include vendors, a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle. For families there will be face painting, costumed characters, children’s activities with Macaroni Kid, Blue’s Clues from Klueless Kunection Entertainment, music and more. There will also be a red carpet, celebrity guest stars and vendors. Senator Michael Venditto will be presenting K.A.S. kids with awards. The first 250 attendants will receive a swag bag full of prizes. This event is free to attend but money and pet item donations are suggested.

The first two Pet Adoption Fashion Shows resulted in over 40 animal adoptions. Some dogs that were in shelters for several years were adopted because of the events. A few thousand dollars’ worth of donations was collected.

About Sean Martin and “Kids Adopt a Shelter”
Sean Martin is a 15-year-old actor who had roles in the film, “Sin Dolor,” as well as music videos and documentaries. Martin is also a Regional Winner of the 2012 Kohl’s Cares Scholarship and a Local Winner of the 2013 Kohl’s Cares Scholarship. Sean decided he wanted to help other animal shelters after collecting and dropping off donations at The Little Shelter on Dec. 23, 2011. He created a Facebook page called, “Kids Adopt a Shelter,” never expecting to gain more than 1,000 “likes” in 24 hours. “Kids Adopt a Shelter” presently has over 15,000 Facebook “likes.”

They also have had representatives (adopters) in New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, 24 states and for over 100 shelters and rescues. “Kids Adopt a Shelter’s” mission is “To make sure every shelter, rescue and foster can keep animals comfortable while waiting to be adopted, with the help of fellow kids.” Past Kids Adopt a Shelter efforts include other seasonal and emergency donation drives. They hold an annual holiday donation drive. “Kids Adopt a Shelter” is a 501(c)3 organization.
