Luminosity from CM Group Provides Worldwide Mobile Learning Delivery for the Marine Learning Alliance

CM Group has partnered with the Marine Learning Alliance (MLA), marine distance eLearning specialists, to deliver the MLA mobile learning App to students in over 50 countries.

Bristol, United Kingdom, July 30, 2015 –(PR.com)– The MLA mobile App gives students access to a variety of undergraduate or postgraduate degree qualifications and short training courses accredited by Plymouth University and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST). The learning materials, including eLearning courses, narrated videos, demonstrations and reference documents are available across the widest range of devices, from PCs and laptops, to the latest tablet and smartphone devices.

Adam Corney, Commercial Director at the Marine Learning Alliance said “Delivering up-to-date and innovative courses in our subjects such as hydrography, meteorology and oceanography is one of our key challenges. With CM Group’s Luminosity mobile learning solutions, we have transformed our learning delivery – we are now able to provide our students with easy access to high quality and up-to-date learning materials, even while they are at sea, with no internet connectivity.”

The Luminosity mobile learning Apps for iOS and Android devices, are enabling the Marine Learning Alliance to deliver a wide variety of learning and support materials to their students. In addition to learning materials, latest news and content update notifications can be delivered directly to the MLA mobile learning App – creating an engaging communications channel between the Marine Learning Alliance and their students.

The Marine Learning Alliance’s range of learning materials are hosted on CM Group’s next generation Luminosity Learning Management System (LMS). With its Learning Record Store (LRS), Luminosity supports the Experience API (Tin Can) in addition to conventional SCORM data tracking, enabling the capture of a wide range of learning experiences. Even while a student’s device is offline, their learning experiences are being tracked. When the device is next online, tracked data is automatically and seamlessly synchronised with the Luminosity LMS – providing the Marine Learning Alliance with a greater understanding of their students’ development paths.
