Palm Springs Designer To Be Profiled in Marquis “Who’s Who in America”

Nov. 12, 2006 – R. Christian Anderson has been selected to be included in a biographical dictionary published by Marquis Who’s Who, the leading biographical reference publisher of the highest achievers and contributors from across the country and around the world. He has been selected for inclusion in the prestigious 61st edition of “Who’s Who in America”, scheduled for publication in November, 2007. Anderson is a designer specializing in corporate photography, advertising and website development and owns R. Christian Anderson Design in Palm Desert.

In recent months, Anderson joined with partner Grover J. Taylor to form Anderson and Taylor, Inc., and will launch a new line of unscented high-end grooming products for men in December, 2006.

Raised in Los Angeles, Anderson’s mother was a popular radio disc jockey for station KMPC, and from the age of three, he was performing in live radio commercials. His late father was a noted classical and jazz music critic, who later owned an art gallery in Beverly Hills.

While serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam conflict, he was trained as a graphic designer and illustrator. After discharge he moved to San Francisco and was employed in the insurance and security industries for the next 23 years. During that time, he moonlighted as a freelance graphic designer and created numerous posters, brochures, print ads and t-shirt designs. He also enjoyed three one-man art exhibitions of his oil paintings and pastels, drawing outstanding reviews in the bay area.

Returning to his Southern California roots in 1996, he re-entered school to obtain his degree in Multimedia Design from Platt College. Over the next few years he gained valuable experience with two superb well-known advertising agencies. He quickly established his own design agency which provided high-end print advertising, web design and photography in Escondido.

Christian visited Palm Springs in 2001 and was struck by the beauty, people and rapid growth in the desert and relocated there the following year. He moved R. Christian Anderson Design to the desert in 2002. Among his accomplishments is to have photographed the Palm Springs Convention Center for their newest advertising campaigns.

Christian’s latest venture is beyond just designing for a company, but building a brand of his own. “The quest to find men’s shaving, bath and body products designed especially for men sensitive to scents and colognes has been a decades-long search for me”, says Anderson, “I have always been hyper-sensitive to perfumes and colognes added to so many products I have used over the years. Anderson and Taylor products will be largely unscented and natural and none will be tested on animals nor will they contain animal products”.

Anderson and Taylor will start with 15 new products and will begin to market the line to upscale men’s hair salons, gift shops and spas across the country starting in early December in Southern California. Anderson adds: “We have already secured an upscale retailer in prestigious Jackson Square district of Seattle, Washington and have signed our first sales representative to the company this month”, he goes on to say, “At this point, we are now ready to show our products to better retailers and spas and are anxious to build a great brand. It’s been a huge amount of planning, preparation, investment, design and test marketing, but it will all be worth it for men who have searched for a line of this quality and scope”.
