Boca Raton, FL, April 21, 2015 –(– Precision Health Care Announces UHMS Accreditation.

Precision Health Care has announced that Rochester General Wound Healing Center, an alliance with St. Ann’s Community, recently received full National Accreditation with the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS). The Center was the first in Rochester to receive UHMS Accreditation, achieving its first accreditation just after opening in November, 2013.

“The application for accreditation is a rigorous process and full accreditation is awarded to those Centers that meet the highest standards in the industry, practice evidence-based medicine and achieve high patient outcomes and patient satisfaction scores,” noted Marc Kaiser, President and CEO of Precision. “Precision has been involved with the planning, development and as the management partner of the Rochester General Wound Healing Center at St. Ann’s Community from the beginning and achieving National Accreditation is validation of the high quality of care provided at the Center for valuable service the wound center provides the community,” Kaiser stated.

The center is under the medical directorship of Dr. Kim Petrone who is Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine and is also a Certified Wound Specialist. The Rochester General Wound Center opened with assistance from Precision Health Care, in November 2013. “We’re delighted to retain this important accreditation,” said Katherine Rogala, Rochester Regional Health System vice president of ambulatory care. “UHMS recognition for the Rochester General Wound Healing Center underscores our commitment to bring truly leading-edge wound-care services to our growing community of patients.”

Rogala also acknowledged an ongoing partnership with Precision Health Care of Boca Raton, FL, as being instrumental in the early successes of the Wound Healing Center. “With their focus on safety and quality, Precision has played an important role in planning and opening this facility, and certainly achieving this UHMS designation,” she said.

“Precision’s focus has always been quality programing. We are excited to have successfully completed our third survey. Our goal would be to have all of the Precision affiliated centers be accredited,” said Kelly Spong, RN, CWOCN, CWS, CHRN – Precision Health Care’s NE Regional Clinical Director. Spong continued, “The Center staff and partner facilities worked alongside Precision staff to accomplish this deserved recognition. I am proud of this achievement for all members of the staff and the patients they treat.”

“There are approximately 1,000 Wound Centers in the 4600 hospitals in the US; less than 170 of those hyperbaric programs have achieved UHMS Accreditation. Precision Health Care has always maintained a high standard for safety and quality care. Recognition by the UHMS is public demonstration of the successful execution of this focus,” according to Darlene Carey, Director of Operations for Precision Health Care.

The wound center provides advanced therapies for patient with chronic, difficult to heal wounds. The Center provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy as one of the adjunctive treatments. Any wound that has not progressed in healing in two weeks will benefit from the wound specialist and quality care offered at the Rochester Regional Wound Healing Center. The two on-site hyperbaric chambers, each with a diameter of 41 inches, are the most spacious HBOT units in use in the Rochester area.
