Nov. 20, 2006 – The grand opening event will feature an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m., followed by brief presentations by Kit Herrod of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) and Founder and CEO Mary Ellen Sheets and President and COO Melanie Bergeron from the corporate headquarters of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. In addition, guests will be invited to tour the company’s offices, warehouse and moving trucks. The local TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise will donate $1 to FHCRC for every guest in attendance and an additional $1 for anyone who takes a tour of their facilities.
”As a local business, we are eager to contribute to our growing community,” Rick Clendenen said of the combination grand opening and fundraising event. “We hope folks will stop in to meet us and to learn why we’re different from other movers, while allowing us to make a donation to FHCRC on their behalf.”
Opening its doors in 1985, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is the largest local franchise moving company with a nationally recognized name and logo. Rick and Glenna Clendenen opened the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise in Kent in August 2006. After surveying available U.S. markets, the couple chose to purchase the franchise in Kent, cited as one of the top areas for economic growth. In addition to the Kent business, the Clendenens plan to open three more locations in the Seattle area over the next two years. The locally owned and operated franchise is one of more than 185 worldwide franchises, including locations in Woodinville and another Seattle location.
