Nov. 20, 2006 – Kent Downtown Partnership (KDP) and area merchants announced today that this year’s Winterfest celebration will benefit the Kent Food Bank. Scheduled for Saturday, December 2 from 8 am to 7 pm, Winterfest 2006 – A Holly Jolly Day in Kent will feature a waffle breakfast at Maggie’s on Meeker, a one-mile Holly Jolly walk guided by The Balanced Athlete, local entertainment, horse drawn carriage rides, holiday sales and more. This year’s event promises to draw a large crowd from Kent and the surrounding areas.
The day-long event will bring back old favorites including a visit from Santa and his traditional bike giveaway, while offering activities and attractions to bring families to downtown Kent. The event is free to the public, but families are encouraged to share their Holly Jolly spirit by bringing food donations to Winterfest to benefit the Kent Food Bank.
“We are really excited about Winterfest 2006,” KDP Executive Director Jacquie Alexander said. “This year’s focus will be on families, fun, and sharing our spirit with others.”
