Nov. 16, 2006 – Application deadline for the annual one-month Writer’s Spring Residency in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is set for January 1, 2007. Sponsored by BelleCora Press and Writers’ Workshops, supporters of established and emerging writers and artists, the one-month residency begins April 1, 2007.
Residency candidates must submit application information found on the Contests page of the sponsor’s website, www.BelleCora.com. BelleCora Press and Writers’ Workshops prefers that application be submitted by e-mail. Work samples and other documents should be submitted as downloadable attachments. Non-electronic submission arrangements can be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone (505/310-0703).
Both published and unpublished writers are encouraged to apply. For candidates who do not have work in progress, submit an explanation of your project concept, with a writing sample and summary of interest in writing. Work sample requirements for works in progress are; ten pages and an outline for novel or book length non-fiction, or three to ten poems, or one short story or essay for collections.
The award includes private bedroom with bath and lounge-workspace, plus use of common areas of facility, which includes living and dining space, patios and swimming pool. Two meals daily, ground transportation to and from airport, local tours, and housekeeping are also included.
