Nov. 20, 2006 – (RALEIGH, NC) – F8 Photo Studios in Raleigh served as photographer of record for WakeMed Foundation’s annual “Society of 1961” gala reception and dinner held on November 13 at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh. Among the notables F8’s Cara Galati photographed that evening was ABC’s chief Washington correspondent George Stephanopoulos.
“I truly felt honored to be asked to photograph this event,” Galati said. “With over 700 attendees, it was a great success and fun to photograph. The WakeMed team is so passionate and driven for success. I love being a part of that.”
The Society of 1961 was established to honor the history and tradition of WakeMed, which opened in 1961. Each year, the Foundation’s board of directors and the WakeMed administration select a specific expansion project or an enhancement to a specific area of care for financial support from the Foundation’s annual fund proceeds. Donors who contributed $1250 or above on an annual basis are recognized at the annual gala reception and dinner.
F8 Photo Studios has been working with WakeMed since April. Besides hospital and Foundation events, Galati and partner Jonathan Kaz have provided photography services for WakeMed’s brochures and its in-house magazine.
Galati, the former principal of CGG Photography, recently launched F8 Photo Studios with Jonathan Kaz of Sixpence Studios in Waterville, Maine, who will relocate to Raleigh permanently in early 2007. Their studio is located in The Royal Bakery Building on Hillsborough Street.
